2/8/2010 Notes: I’m trying to do mostly commissioned remixes or original tracks these days, but sometimes you just have this itch you need to scratch. Such was the case with this track by The xx. Though, honestly, such was the case with the whole album! I don’t really have time to give each track the attention it deserves but I was able to flesh this one out. The xx’s music is really stripped down, but has all the same elements as most pop or dance songs.

So as a remixer this is real exciting material to work with: the riffs, melodies and hooks are killer. Beyond that you can really go in whatever direction you like, so long as your work compliments the original skeleton of a track instead of overpowering it.
